This near centennial institution has been in my backyard the whole time
It’s a fun discovery to learn about the triumphs of local businesses you grew up around. These days, the Hudson Valley seems to be glowing up with all the food establishments and boutique inns that are popping up along the Hudson River. Eng’s Chinese restaurant, however, has been around for over 100 years, and I’m now just hearing about it. It’s no more than a 45-minute drive from my family home on Broadway in Kingston, one of my favorite towns to frequent. And it’s been on the radar of the biggest food giants for what seems like a while, according to their recent win of the James Beard America’s Classics Award. Someone has been paying attention all along!
